I belong to an Indian Muslim family of ten members. My
parents migrated from India to Nepal about 25 years ago. From then onwards we
are living here on the income of my father from his embroidery factory. We are
six siblings among which I am the youngest one. I have two elder brothers, two
elder sisters and a twin brother who is just two minutes elder than me, which
makes me the youngest one.
My family is not so much strict to daughters as
other Muslim families are. So we all are getting opportunity to study for which
I think we are lucky. I'm currently studying BBS in Navodit college and my
siblings play a great role for me being here. As my twin brother is studying
"Science " , I couldn't join science sector because it was difficult
for my father to pay such a huge amount for both of us. And as my elder brother
studies in Navodit college so I couldn't get a chance to choose any other
college.
Until last year, my life was going smooth and easy because
I'm the youngest child and I didn't have to do much work at home. My only work
was to study as my elder sisters used to do all household works, my mother
being suffering from diabetes and stomach stone. But then also I wasn't as
irresponsible as other people think youngest children are. I always used to
help my father in his factory and after finishing my learning I also used to
help my sisters. As being a tension free girl I was very good as a student.
Everything was going wonderful before the day when my
eldest sister got married and left our family. My other sister started doing
job as a teacher which made her busy only in her school. After that my life
completely changed. This is the biggest reason that have everything to do with
who I am today.
I have to do all household works so it was obvious that I
can't give much time to my study because of which I had to kill my dream of
being a C.A in future. I have to spend most of my time in kitchen doing
utensils or cooking food. But all these don't upset me because BBS is also a
good sector plus all these responsibilities are teaching me to face all the
difficulties of this cruel world. My brothers and sisters fulfill all my
necessities as I don't even get time to earn my pocket money myself because of
the household works. They work hard and also inspire me to do so. I am happy
that in this one year I have become much more mature and understanding. I have
learned to manage time for everything. Apart from that I have learned many
skills like cooking, sewing and many more. All these have made me independent
and free.
Today, I am an independent girl with lots of dreams and courage
to make them come true and this is all because of my family and siblings. And
the most interesting and wonderful part is to hear my parents and siblings
appreciating my work infront of others and the smile on their faces makes me
who I am today.
